CRIF High Mark addresses lenders on inclusion of SHG data in credit bureau at a DFID organized workshop in Bhubaneswar
CRIF High Mark was the key speaker at a workshop on “Credit Bureau Systems for SHG Data Reporting” organized by DFID (UK-Aid), SIDBI PSIG (Poorest State Inclusive Growth) Program and Access Assist at Bhubaneswar on April 20th 2015. The workshop has participants from leading Banks such as SBI, UCO Bank (SLBC convener for Odisha), Microfinance Institutions, SHPIs which work in the state of Orissa. Parijat Garg (Vice President) shared company’s experience in building the Microfinance credit bureau for JLG (Joint-Liability Group) loans, the impact of the credit bureau in the microfinance sector and the company’s joint efforts with various micro-lenders to improve quality of KYC data. He also shared case studies on multiple financing of borrowers across SHG and JLG data, and emphasized on the importance of SHG data reporting to Credit Bureaus. A possible roadmap for including SHG data in Credit Bureau and the key challenges involved on the way were also discussed.
