Gold Loans Continue To Dominate Retail Lending in Kerala- CRIF Insights

The retail credit industry in Kerala has witnessed nearly 20% growth in the past three fiscal years, compared to the national average of 18%. Over 42 lakh loans got disbursed this fiscal so far. “Goldloans continue to be the main drivers in the lending market with its share exceeding 40% and witnesses one of the lowest category-wise NPAs with 0.24% in Kerala. Education Loan NPA (PAR91-180) are around 5.7%and PSU Banks have 44% marketshare followed by NBFCs (26.5%)”.
